    Dear Uncle,
One of your masterpieces. I could vividly imagine the scene as I was reading this. Especially the use of the word 'duty'. Looking forward to another jewels from the crown of your writing.

    Dear Sridhar,

It is easy to go with the tide, to write something that does not require reflection, just imagination. You have attempted to tell the story of The Holy Ramayana which requires a lot of reflection.

May the Lord Rama guide you into narrating the story into a tale well told.

    Best Wishes,
    Shail

    Dear Raji,
thanks for being the very first to comment. And let me share a gift with you and every one else who reads this blog.
The actual reply of the Lord, as written by Valmiki, is considered the holiest of utterings and is called the Ramayana charama sloka. In some parts of the country that sloka is uttered into the ears of the dying man.
I am reproducing the sloka. And whenever you feel disturbed please chant this.

    sakrutheva prapannaya thavaasmithi cha yaachathe
abhayam sarvabudhebyo dhadami yethat vratham mama
I have given the meaning of this sloka in italics in the blog.
    thanks once again.

    Sridhar Sir

Am glad you warned before starting the story itself..to keep some tissues handy...initially all went well while reading the scene...but end of it, specially by the time when you said, sugreeva was crying and lord rama looked at lakshmana and lakshmana was hiding his tears...involuntarily i had tears in my eyes too...

Thanks for the sloka...atleast through your blog people like me got a chance to know more about our great epics and about our beloved god.

    Dear Shail,
thanks a lot for the profound words of praise which I shall strive hard to deserve in the coming episodes.
And yes it's the Lord who's guiding me all the time. Whether it is a thriller romance, or a Ramayana Scene, or a Rumi verse or a page in the life of Ramanuja, whatever I have written is guided by him.
    thanks once again.

    Hello Shobha,
    You are most welcome.
While on this my suggestion to you is that don't try too hard looking for a message hidden in the text. I assure you there is no such thing. If the devotion of Vibheeshana makes your eyes wet, well, the message is received, loud and clear.
When we say our scriptures have deep meanings it only refers to the deep love and not something for which we should try hard to decode the hidden meaning.
Relax and read it in one go. Let the after-taste stay in your mouth and heart. Leave the rest to the Lord.
    love,
    sridhar uncle
