    Hi @Rihana,
Thank you for starting this thread, as it helps me to think deeply and articulate my thoughts. In my view, respect in married life means treating their partner with dignity, kindness, equality. It involves listening, communication without hurt, supportive, and appreciative. Respect also means honoring boundaries, feelings, standby your partner both in private and public.

In married life, love without respect means caring their partner while ignoring their feelings, boundaries, and dignity. Love without respect becomes controlling instead of protective and the marriage becomes exhausting instead of safe. Overtime, love alone isn’t enough to keep the relationship healthy or lasting.

I believe it applies to all relationships, especially the relationship between parents and their children.

Love blossoms after respect. After marriage first phase Blind love irrespective of respect or disrespect. In tamil there is an adage “ assai arupadhu nall mhogam muppadhu nall “ meaning initially love first sixty days and enduring passion for next thirty days”. After passion evaporates or and diminishes love either start growing or dissipates which depends on several extraneous factors.
