    Dear Usha,
You are right. Prophet is Gibran's book and his masterpiece. Drop whatever you are working at now, run to the nearest bookstore and get Prophet. Just read it once. You will never stop reading it.
He has carved every word in the depths of our hearts. I read the book in 1991 and since then have never looked back.
I should thank our own dear Kamalji for digging out these old posts.
    love,

    Dear Sridhar,

Can u please give me the name of a gibran book, that i can buy at a bookstore. You have got me interested, that i can enjoy him with drinks.Big LaughI love Kural too very much, floored by the wisdom, so Gibran too must be good.Sadly i have not read these greats, just keep reading novels like Dan Bown, Jeffery Archer and others.

    Dear Mythili,
    thanks.
Gibran is refreshingly different from other poets who always talk about the "nakamum sathaiyum" bondage in a marriage.
    I know you'll like it.
    love,
    sridhar

    Hi Sri,

The title made me jump here!

    Dependent and independent is secondary!

What causes the rift, depression and sorrow after marriage is not accepting the weakness of the other person. Two persons are different and have two different hearts though the poets, shayars and lyricist say "it is given to each other". So they are bound to think differently, act differently and behave differently.

I go with the title! I Liked it very much! Do not ask me why! Ha. Ha.
