    interesting insight, Varalotti sir.
but I must say, for most youngsters, being in love with somebody is more of an imitation of the movies. its 'cool' to say that you have a gf or bf.
in reality, its not that easy to handle such a relationship, which most realize when they get bored with their gf/bf!
    what do you say, sir?

    Dear Sridharji,

Very happy to read your spiritual blog in the morning. Welcome back to writing spiritual blogs after a short break. Enjoyed reading the pasuram(is that a pasuram or mere poem ? not sure) and its meaning. Frankly I couldnt have understood it without the translation, even though I read it as it was such heavy tamil . But the content is so deep, I could draw parallels with the advaitha philosphy of aham brahmamsi. When the I inside us gets completely destroyed , then what remains is only the sat-chit-anandam . Rather when the jeevatma totally surrenders and loses its identity and merges with paramatma, then what remains is only paramatma. Particluarly the lines, it is you who came inside and made me live- shows the presence of only 'sat' inside , which is shining brillaintly. Wow , such a brilliant verse.

Also enjoyed your humourous narration of 'not so good looking ' lovers .

    Radhi

Sridhar, as usual, you explained the heavy stuff with the simple example. It was refreshing to read it as soon as I wake up and log on to my computer. You are making me to get interested in Alwars now. Thanks. Could you recommend me a book to start with. ( by the way, I am much older in human age, not in spiritual age.
Hope you can lead to a road where I can understand Perumal.

    Very nice story.
    Good day.

Your mother should be really proud of you. You are right. I have seen many academic careers crashing down because of a premature love affair. Of all the relationships a love relationship is the most complex one. That gives us writers our livelihood. But it wrecks many lives.
I was also in love. Though we had not talked to each other we had our share of tense moments.
I now think that my mind was made rich by that relationship.
    thanks for coming in.

    Dear Radhi,
In fact only after seeing your and Malathi's response to ILY 2 did I start dedicating my Friday blogs to you, to the spiritual side.
Azhwar's paasurams are like a rich gold mine. But you need to dig deep to hit real pay dirt. That is facilitated by the commentators, Nampillai, chief among them.

Ramanuja and Azhwars propound Visishtadvaitha philosophy which in many instances diametrically opposite to Advaitha. In fact many Vaishnava texts contain special arguments like Maya vada kandanam where the concept of Maya is attacked.
But frankly, Radhi, I don't get into those intellectual arguments.
When we are in love do we argue with our lovers? No, we only melt for our lovers. And God is our greatest lover and being so he is beyond the reach of any intellectual props.
Looking forward to your continued support in these spiritual blogs.
    love,
    sridhar

Thanks Coffeelover. The best book to start with is Azhwarkal Oru Elia Arimugam by Sujatha.
In spirituality there is no seniority. So you are my senior there too.
    love,

    Dear Sridhar,
It was a pleasant surprise to once again see your spiritual blog here. It was a great experience learning about one more of Aazhwar's paasurams where he pours out his divine love to the Lord Almighty. What a deep meaning for those four lines! They do make us melt our hearts, thanks to your translation. And..... then the examples you narrate are so apt that it makes us understand what exactly true love is. The flat tyre example which your Guru used as a metaphor to illustrate extraordinary love and you in turn shared with us was simply superb. This is what makes a world of a difference between a true knowledgeable person and one who goes by the books. My humble pranams to your Guru, who is indirectly helping us to know about the Aazhwars through you.
Thank you Sridhar for having considered our fbs to once again start your spiritual blogs for people like us.
    Love
    Malathi

This is one thing I love of my appa.
Whatever you see or you listen, how can you relate to it so positively appa???
Well, I read the transalation, but couldn't read the actual verses of the pasuram.
Very true appa, our love to god is just nothing compared to what we get from him.
Today a stranger , a total stranger came of help to me.
Many a times such incidents happen, either I receive or I give this kind of a help and the feeling that persist after the episode of any help is such that of a perfume leaving an after effect in the room that it was used.

    Loved reading.

    Kavi.

    Dear Malathi,

Once I started writing the romance serial I realized the great similarity between the romantic love and the love for God. As I have been crying hoarse in my blogs and stories, the object of love is not relevant, the intensity is. Intensely loving a street dog is any day a better proposition than loving God for winning worldly favours.

When I started the serial I thought it would be difficult to handle romance and spirituality in one week. That's why I shifted to social blogs. But now I realise I can easily move over from human love to love for God.
In fact I have lined up two more blogs in the series.

Having romance and spirituality mixed together each can learn from the other.

Looking forward to seeing you here every Friday.
    love,
    sridhar
