Ambica's thread Walking Stick brought me here to write this post about my father and grandmother who both suffered with Cancer. I know I am not so good in narrating like Ambica but I will try to write in my own style. Each one have their own style of writing. So I will follow my style

Practice, practice, practice writing. Writing is a craft that requires both talent and acquired skills. You learn by doing, by making mistakes and then seeing where you went wrong.
Jeffrey A. Carver - - Jeffrey Carver website:

Just when I finished my X Std my father was laid with Cancer. Those days there was not proper treatment for Cancer. First he went for Allopathy when no improvement, he went for Ayurvedic. Since I was at home he wanted me to look after him. Those days we did not have fan at home. We were in Hyderabad but we never felt the need for a fan. But since my father was not well I got a table fan from my friend's house. But he never used to like that and used to tell me to fan him. I did my best to look after him. But after suffering he left us and only satisfaction was that we all were near him when he died. Whatever I am today is because of his blessings only.

After 10 years after he died my grandmother got Cancer. She was my mother's mother. She had gone delivery of my sister in Delhi and after two months she got Cancer. She did not want to stay there and trouble them so she came back to us. She used to like my second brother very much and I as staying with him that time. So I could look after my grandmother. My mother also came as she was staying with my elder brother. I did all my best to take good care of her. But she also left us and told me that I will get a good husband and blessed me. I was so surprised when I got married my dh was from my grandmother's native place. With hers and God's blessing I got a gem of a person.

Just got this poem from google

If tears could build a stairway,
    And memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to Heaven
    And bring you home again."
    ~ Author Unknown

    Not a second passes
When you're not on our minds
Your love we will never forget
The hurt will ease in time."

Vijima your post brought tears to my eyes. Very nicely written, straight from your heart. We are a part of our parents, and we always remember them. Some memories bring joyful tears and some memories make us sob in pain. I think no amount of time can heal the loss of a parent; but life goes on.
Keep writing, we adore your posts.

    Hello Viji Aunty,

Lovely post aunty. Thanks for the post as it reminds me of my grandparents. Through your post I remembered my maternal grandparents who passed away 8 and 4 years back. When doing some dishes or whenever I advice my DD and DS on something I always remember them for making me what I am now. At that time I might have thought their advices were boring but today I realize how much goodness they have left with us when I am bringing up my own children.

    Regards
    Manjukps

    Dear Vijima,
Please dont you ever put me in such a delicate situation of referring me as as good narrator.I would say nice narration is something that comes straight from the heart & not through our writing skills.I can never match you when it comes to your enthusiasm in writing almost daily, sharing & spreading positive vibes through your post, your emotions, prompt replies to your post, making great friends, appreciation in form of nominations every month.Hugs to you ma for being there for us.Always.:)

Manju dear thanks for your appreciation. Glad that it bought memories of your maternal grandparents. True we remember them when we make their favourite didshes or whenever we remember the advices they gave us for our good. True when we are teenagers we dont like their advices but later when we grow up only we understand why they had told us and try to follow their advices
