Hi ! Is there any volunteer groups in chennai? Like I have heard of one from which members do reading for blind etc.
This is actually for dyslexic children, kids with learning disabilities.. To enable them getting back to the mainstream world by learning some art & crafts activities. They are taught, apart from regular studies, activities to create mementoes, small gift items . The articles they make are sold .The institution also accept orders from philanthropic persons, institutions etc. for such articles, the proceeds of which is fueled into the system again to help more such children , who come from underprivileged sections of the society. The volunteers are to help the children in this, since they always require extra help and hence extra hands. This particular requirement is to fulfill an order for Christmas decorations.
