    Hello All!

I am south-Indian and I don't wear silk for ethical reasons. I want to avoid wearing any wedding saree that is made of silk. My question is can you please provide some information on non-silk wedding sarees. Also if there are helpful links to some online saree stores where I can look through the selection, would be greatly appreciated.

All I can think of is art-silk, which hope is not silk and stands for artificial silk.

    Thank you! :thumbsup

    Try looking for Ahimsa silks..
You can also look for fine cotton sarees with zari .. (like Venkatagiri cotton sarees.. but I don't know much about it, maybe the experts will know names of other varieties)

Ahimsa silk is a better alternative though expensive...but it lacks sheen..If you have budget constraints go for ahimsa poly-cot sarees without compromising on the rich appeal....looks good on a south Indian bride. It seems, many celebraties and jains who think on the same lines as you do prefer wearing them.

    Hi dear,

I was in your place last year. There is very little information available.
I even tried contacting the person who created ahimsa silk sarees.

At last, I found some good Ahimsa silk sarees in Deepam silks which I wore for my wedding. It isnt rough or unsmooth. It isnt jazzy and shiny like silk but has a very polished and classy look. You will have to do some searching, but you can sure find good ones.

Which city/country are you shopping in?

As per your question it very tough to find door to door shop for this type sarees. So my suggestion that you should try best online website where has vast collection of sarees are available. Likewise you can try Myntra, Snapdeal, Flipkart etc. I hope you will get it.
