Shopping hit the outlet malls, Gurnee Mills in North and Aurora outlet mall in west.
Aurora has better range but I have never visted even though I have been here for so many years.

You can find all the attracations online.

Try to take the architectural boat tour from Navy pier.

Millenium Park,

Plantorium and Museum is good for taking pictures.

Lincoln Park zoo,

many others, google yourself.
