    LIVING WITH GOD 24/7

    I was just wandering!

    This is for those who believe God resides in us, meaning thereby living with Him 24/7.

    It also includes those who keep on reciting their favorite Mantra silently all the time in their daily life.

    It also includes those who spend a good time in religious gatherings.

    It also includes those who read religious books as a daily routine.

    Spending so much time with Him must be exhilarating. But at times, it may feel exhausting.
    We live with our family members who are so dear to us. It is out of our love and affection that we feel they are part of us, something like residing in us. It feels so exhilarating and satisfying, yet at times, we feel unhappy for some of their actions or lack thereof.

    In the same way, God also disappoints us. We find He is biased. He rewards the undeserving and has no feelings for our devotion to Him.

    Should we take a leave of absence from Him for some time, and how?

    Dear Hariji,
    God may be within us or saints saying to see
    Dear Harini,
    Agreed God is within everyone (?) or saints saying "See God in everyone".... But can we really be with God or see God in everyone's!!!!Ordinary mortals like me cannot do. Even our own family members whom we love with all our hearts can be with us 24/7? Not at all. Do we not get irritated or angry with them at times???We do. So...I allot a little time for God in a day.That gives us a sort of peace and strength to face life easily....not that easily, that too is testing.

    I remember a parable of Paramahamsa.
    Once a sishya asked his Guru where would God be
    "Everywhere, in everyone and everything," said his Guru.

    Later, as the disciple was going home, he saw an elephant charging towards him.

    "Get out of the way, get out of the way," shouted mahout (the elephant-driver). "He has gone mad! But the disciple thought: "God is everywhere. He is in the elephant and he is in me. Would God attack God? No, therefore the elephant will not attack me.""

    He stood where he was. The elephant picked him up in his trunk and flung him aside. Fortunately, he landed in a haystack and was not too badly hurt. But he was terribly shaken and confused.

    When the Guru and the other disciples came to help him and take him home, he said, "You said God is in everything, but see what the elephant did to me!"

    "It is true that God is in everything," said his Guru. "He is in the elephant, but he is also in the mahout who kept telling you to get out of the way. Why didn't you listen to him?"

    At present times God is with me always. I have a Mandapam wuth different God's and I dress some of them put jewellery made by me and do pooja. I have a separate room.so whole day I am seeing God. I have experienced this because after coming to Kerala twice I fell diwn but with God's grace nothing happened
    I get worried as in 1991 I had hip bone fracture.was operated again since after two months no progress again operated and after one year to remove the pins. Again 1999 another operation. Morning while going g to temple I recite mantra.

    Although I'm religious and have my set of regular prayer routine etc, it is difficult for me to believe that God resides in all. If it were so, would such untold misery such as killings, burnings of innocent lives be carried out by humans? However i believe there is a supreme power i.e. God to whom i can turn to for solace in times of stress and express gratitude for the all the good things happening . I wonder whether taking a break from GOD would yield any tangible results as nothing tangible can be attributed to God but for our faith and belief ! Interesting thoughts:blush:

    It is very complex. When we say God is within everyone, we mean I am Brahman, which in other words means everyone is Brahman.
    There is an interesting tale I read.
    Saran is a dull boy. He asks his teacher to give him some knowledge. The teacher asks him to recite Aham Brahmosmi without explaining the meaning. He goes home reciting. His father asks him to explain the meaning, and that was not clear to him. His father said it means I am Brahman. Remember it. He keeps reciting I am Brahman meaning my father is Brahman. He meets his uncle and he says I am brahman-not your father.
    His uncle corrects him and says it means I am Brahman. Now the child recites I am Brahman means my uncle is Brahman. The village chief says it means I am Brahman, not uncle.
    Saran is totally confused. he sits on a stone slab and keeps reciting the phrase. The night passes and the realization comes to him that like his father, his uncle, village chief he is Brahman.

    Thanks. The tale is included in a book -Tales told by Mystics -by Manoj Das. This is what we conclude one way or the other. In Hindi they say- Na jane kis bhes me mil jayen bhagwan-(do not know in what disguise, God may appear.)
    If we accept this, we are in constant company of Him.

    We live in a society of believers and nonbelievers and neutrals. Those who believe, ask no questions, and those who do not need any answer. The neutrals are in the majority. They are Spiritualistic but not Ritualistic, do not believe that there is a God but believe that there is a Supernatural Power. I fall in that category. I believe, there is no harm in remembering God aka Supernatural power. It may not do any good but it will do no harm also.
    I, however, do not believe in rituals.
