    Dear Chithra,

That was again another great post......slowly things are getting clearer!
    I liked these sentences...............

    Why pursue karma yoga?
The knowledge of karma yoga enables to destroy the bondage of karma.

To the degree an individual detaches himself from his own body, mind and intellect, to that degree , his ego is dead and therefore, since the "sufferer" is no longer available, there cannot be any more "fruits of action" for him to suffer.

    So true!Bow

    Dear Sudha,
I thank you very much because you are following regularly & that is why,
    slowly things are getting clearer!
This is a slightly heavy topic, but as we proceed gradually, we can understand definitely.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear C

As usual, you have very lucidly explained Sankhya yoga and its relation to Karma yoga - Sankhya and yoga are the theory and practice of religion.

I have saved the following lines from this post for frequent pondering - the past sinner is the present sufferer, Knowledge destroys ignorance and with that, doesrship is destroyed, causing all karmas to fall apart.

This post of yours reiterates the need for Karma yoga and am eagerly looking forward to the subsequent posts...!

    Dear Sri

Thanks for your elucidation of Sankhya philosophy. Those of us following Chitvish's Gita posts can't ask for more...!

    -Gayathri.

    Dear Chithra..

Sorry for the late response. But late-aa vandhalum latest-aa varein :)

This whole concept of 'liberation' seems very deeply rooted to Godliness. I understand from your post that:

    a) One needs to reach a stage where good and evil, happiness and sorrow, success and failure - no more matter as such.

    b) This stage is reached when past actions are no more influential on the present and the future, i.e., a stage of stable equilibrium where nthg but God exists

In accounting parlance, one has arrived at the correct 'balance sheet', where credit = debit :)

Having said this, once the balance is realized, there exists God, for the 'balance' is itself God. At this level, one need not worry whether one is happy or sad, one is hungry or not etc, for God pervades and takes care of these needs automatically.

Am I right in my gist above?

    Thanks and love
    Pavithra

    Dear Gaathri,
I am sure you remember both my posts on The Law of Karma. That explains elaborately, the line
the past sinner is the present sufferer

The knowledge of sankhya dissociates us from the doership, the "I".
After the second chapter, I plan to write on Sanchitha, Prarabdha & Agami Karmas for a better understanding.
But ultimately, Gita says that Karma Yoga should be only a stepping stone to Jnana Yoga, which ultimately leads us to liberation (moksha).

Yes, I am extremely thankful to Sri !BowBow Bow

What I write is comparable only to the theoritical Sankhya - His is comparable to the practical Yoga, which is our goal !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Pavithra,
Very good gist of my post !
I presume you are an accountant !!
One extra point, I would like to add is
    God = Brahman =Ishwara =Self.
    Thanks for joining us here.
    Love,

    Dear Chith

Yes I remember your Laws of Karma part I and II and I had read it many times. In the last para you have mentioned:

To the degree an individual detaches himself from his own body, mind and intellect, to that degree , his ego is dead and therefore, since the "sufferer" is no longer available, there cannot be any more "fruits of action" for him to suffer.

So when a person have fully succeeded in following the detachment from the body karma yoga does not affects him. when the ego is completely dead then any more sufferings cannot affect him even though it happens.

    Love
    Vidhi

    Dear Vidhi,
    You are right.
    But you must change
karma yoga does not affects him
    to
    Karmaphala does not affect him!
This was the state reached by Paramacharyal & Ramanar.
    Thanks for joining, Vidhi.
    Love,
    Chithra.
