    Hello girls;
I was in phone nonstop since today morn. Called a few college mates; and it is already afternoon :))) Time does fly :))

About the clot; I am not taking it seriously at all...I know. I might have if I had known it maybe after 50years; but I knew when I was in mid 20's. In the youth we have this never-die attitude. Maybe that is the reason. I remember the first time; doctor showing us the head scan and I saw two black "gap" :)) I remarked..."now I know the route through which all the memorized multiplication-table went :))" J pinched me;)

Ladies; talk to you all later. So much work is pending. Still I love connecting with old girl friends. So much to catch up.

oh gosh what a busy day:( on way back from hair cut there was a mobile art activity for children at the park near our home. our luck it was only y'day and today. they had 5 stands for painting, aprons stitched roughly, paints. both kids got into action. esp the little one had fun wearing the over sized apron, splashing paint to her heart's content. but well for mommy it was a tough task to rip them off the painting project (so other children get their turn) and bring them home. pacifying etc., dinner got delayed and they both went to bed screaming... over exhaustion:( now i'm drained totally confused what task to finish.

it's my turn to demonstrate a science experiment on thursday at the pre-school... solar energy. i've to do a paper craft for that - 26 pieces. the other indian mom and me are doing together. she said you take the paper home and i'll come to your home we'll do together. it's been a month since i've the papers with me... what to say:hide: so now me and DH will do... anyway some good out of this;)

dinner made aapam and vada kari mmmmmm... yummy yum. DH over ate and now complaining;)

sad news my cousin's FIL passed away so they will not visit us next month. when a loss hits so close to home it's really painful to digest.

i'll start with watering the plants.

    V,
hugs and you are right in showing your anger to A. I react the same way as you do and i know it's justified. and i'm also sure A knows you're hurt and that's why he repeats it many times. my A too does that... every time i'm hurt and every time we patch up:(

    Pon,

what's this? take care dear. this kind of slipping, forgetting, tiny accidents seems to be the norm for me these days:( we're not taking care of ourselves very well.

y'day and today morning espresso hasn't suited me well. told DH and he's angry that i didn't convey it properly when he decided to invest on the coffee maker. oh well men! i've gotten to drinking chai while staying away from coffee during pregnancy. this kind of black coffee churns my digestive system in an unpleasant way:(

tomorrow is wednesday is it? oh thank God! the cleaning lady will be here to give me company. i so hope saturday is the day after:(

hey girls... am writing really really quick. (added at last - 'post became too long'!)

Latha - this DD n pram thing sounds tiring dear.. hope this phase passes off quickly. I know it is one thing after the other. I have my troubles with just one child.. wonder what I will do if I have two and live away from family help like you do. Hugs to you..

V, is Aadhu's school till 3pm? he is in Pre-K or LKG.. still school till 3pm is long na?? Is it diff from chennai schools? so does he eat his lunch properly? what do you pack for him?

Pon, are you joking.. hot hot sambar?? girl, I go crazy when I am cooking and there are 101 people calling for me in person or on phone calls.. dont talk on phone especially when you are busy cooking.. just be 'not reacheable' on phone till 9am (until DH and kids are gone for the day). my humble request!

Nitha, so did you go to the doc to make sure everything is alright? do you take yearly checkup and let the doc keep an eye on this clot? take care girl.. so whats new with chinnu these days? hows your new locality n new neighbours? hope you are loving the place.
Ramya, Pon, yes there is a suitable opening in another account but you know what the HR wants to know if my mgr will release me from thsi proj even before he can tell me abt the opening. so I am thinking abt it.

abt P.. on friday (I was off), I tried this aft. school thing so I know how he does.. I sent freshly made dhaal rice, dropped it in school as soon as it was cooked.. but the teachers thought it was spoilt (in 30 mins of cooking) and DS happily refused to eat it so he skipped lunch that day.. so from monday it is only curd rice for him with diff veggies as side dish. he somehow finishes it. I am looking for ideas. He plays plays and plays till his 4pm pick up. BTW, those hobby classes I was telling you abt will start after 2 weeks but they had a preview of those classes during the 1st week of school for parents to take a peek.. and it was pretty interesting. Dance from Raack academy of dance, Karate from Inshiriyu (a popular karate school), Robotics from Mindmasters, creative arts from blah blah (I dont remember) Music and instrumentals from some music school. Except for Karate P will be allowed for all classes. he already does enough karate at home with daddy.. ahh they have fireless cooking too. so hope it all goes as planned. so far I am liking the teachers and the school.

Tikka, Pon, I thought of you when I sat in the school premises for the first 2 weeks while P was inside school. he didnt cry even on the first day. he was nervous though. but he started liking the place in 2 days so all was well.. but you know I was so pissed off with hearing some parents crib right from the first day abt the school, the confusions going on, they kept saying, oh it is not at all organised, they should have done this n that.. other schools are so organised balh blah.. I was like ' common, like our children are new to school and they are crying their lungs out inside the class and parents all over the school premises.. teachers are trying to do their best, handling the children carefully, dealing with parents / registrations, initial process, pacifying the children, etc.. everything in this process is new.. so we have to give them all time to settle down..' we were 3 or 4 moms who thought this way and stuck together.. dint complain abt the school, had some nice chat abt our children and waited patiently.. trust me the other set of mom still complain..they will never stop. Pon, you were telling me abt some moms at S's school who keep criticising/ complaining na and you getting fed up and do not give ears to it.. I felt the same way.. why cant people be a little bit more tolerating!

oh and it is so difficult to keep P awake until dinner time (7pm now) at 6pm he will kind of doze off so I have to be near him all the time to make sure he does slip into slumber before his dinner.. as you know he skips his aft. nap (good for me) after dinner, he dozes off by 8 or max 8:30pm (touchwood) so I have been sleeping better for past 3 days. girls, give me some ideas on cooking some dishes in the night and storing them for next day.. what dishes will suit this pattern, cook - store it away in fridge and re-heat and use it for breakfast / lunch next day. I wish to get into this pattern. ideas pls.

Latha - thanks. I feel silly giving a 3 year old the silent treatment but I've run out of ideas! Also it just occured to me that a lot of this behaviour is because his school timings have changed this week and he doesnt get to go to his granparents house after school anymore; so I'm going to be a little more understanding and give him this month to settle down.

Pon- how is the hand now?

AD - this is pre-KG. Most school here start only from LKG and then its full-day always but the schools start later in the mornings than Chennai schools. In A's school even pre KG is the same timing as LKG and UKG - 9.30 to 3. Today's lunch is peas pulao (Chitvish recipe). Yesterday was egg noodles and the day before was mini tomato-cheese oothappams. I make and pack at 8 am and they seem to last fine until lunch at 12.

We've found another house to buy which DH and I both like - this one will be only a house (no clinic atached). Hope it works out!

ahhh got it V. it's such a learning experience when children enter our lives, isn't it? adjusting to a new being, their moods. it is also a bit challenging because of the responsibility part. i don't feel bad anymore if i lose my sanity close to bed time. it's so exhausting and i barely have control over my patience:( how is your cook btw? i have been wanting to ask since a very loooong time:) good luck with the new venture. if it's meant for you you'll definitely get it:)

    AD,

with 2nd child many things seem easier but they always surprise us... i always thought siblings will be similar but sadly it's not so:( we have done long trips both by car and flight with big A. he'd just be quiet or doze off. sunday when we went on an hour's drive, little A started to wail after about 20 kms:( we had to stop every 15 mts, make her take some walk. i think she hates to be tied and made to sit in one place.

oh those activities sound wonderful. what am i doing sitting in germany?????

    Pon,

i second AD - never take phone when busy in the kitchen esp. how is your hand now?

where are the others? tikka, lee, shree, sharadha, SS... am i missing someone else?

i woke up early, thought i was fresh but i'm again sleepy. off for a tiny activity with little A.

    Nitha - I love your attitude !!
Latha - I wish Saturday was today.I can imagine how it can be when A refuses to nap. I was struggling to make my A sleep until 1:30am last night and I had a meeting this morning.
AD - Which pre-school and after school is P going to? And I hope your office is better.
V - I really hope this house works out. Is it an independent one? So will you guys be settling down at Erode?
And don't feel bad for not talking. I have experienced it many a times. Not talking is better than spanking him. You can tell him politely later that he will need to come and spend sometiem the comming weekend etc etc
Padmini - How are you today? Do invite us for your mom's samayal once ..I am hearing a lot from Pon ;))
Tikka/AD - Can you tell me about the French Quarters at Pondy?
Girls - Left late to office, but was glad that I could give A an oil bath !! She refuses to eat and has become very very naughty ;)) I am glad to see her grow up and I miss DH when I am not able to share A's pranks with him.

    Hey Girls,

How are you all doing? I had a very patchy sleep last night with Manu getting up every 1 hr and at 5.30 am she started to wail after feed.. no comforting, rocking in thooli could stop her.The DH took her in his arms and this brat dozed off..
The reason i now understand is that, DH was late from work yesday and Manu slept by 10.30 pm without seeing/playing with him.I have noticed this in her...whenever DH is late and she doesn't get to see him.. this wailing comes in the morning times. So i requested DH to come home on time atleast today. Lets see.

Pon -Hows your hand?? At times im' so scared to keep Manu in kitchen with me when i cook.Highly risky..

V - Hugs...My niece does the same. She refuses to go home when my SIL calls her.Good luck with your buying house!

Suman -I can totally understand this waking up thing.Manu does that too.To top it meeting.... huh! I know how our company works. That why i decided to resign.I cannot clock 9.5 hrs with swipe systems with Manu anymore.I think our office must do something for moms like us (flexible timings/WFH etc.

    Hiiii to all others....

Latha, Prayers to your cousin's family. what craft are you making? They had an art studio at the museum we visited and P had fun painting with his apron on.

AD, hope things work out at work. About the lunch pack - it must be difficult now with the summer heat. Does a thermos work? I think most curries/sambar/kozhambus can me pre-made and refrigerated and if you just make rice the next day it will be great. Somehow for us rice has to be freshly made :-(

V, I love your new avatar. Good Luck with the house.

Aishu, babies do sense when mom/dad is away and act up. When P was younger I had a hard time with him on the days when DH was late.

Pon, have a great trip. What function? I must have missed that. Be careful when cooking...

Thanks for all the good luck wishes with the house everyone! I really need them all because I really like it and want it to work out this time. Anyway now Aadi is nearly upon us so nothing will be done by way of actual buying until Aavani (mid Aug); gives us some time to arrange money etc.

She's ok - will do for the time being. I'm on the hunt for a live-in person if we move though ; this house we are looking at is big (3 bedrooms) and I will need help in maintaining it.

Oh yes, definitely settling down here 100%. Its an independant 3 bedroom + 1 study house (ground and first floors) and is on one of the nicest streets in Erode (DH's dream location :) ) plus very close to work for me and close enough to IL's house. Its very pricey but we are thinking we'll probably never get another chance in that neighbourhood as sales are rare so want to go for it. It means of course that we will have to postpone having our own clinic for quite some time and we will have to cut back on spending too but if it takes care of our housing situation for the rest of our lives it will be worth it. Keeping my fingers crossed...

    V.
