    This was was really a puzzle for me :) My spoiler has multiple answers. Is it Midnight Children or Satanic Versus ? Or the recent Rushdie horrible stabbing incident? Or the general intolerance ? Or Iran fatwa against him because well is a clue for oil well in Iran? I was not able to understand the flower clue at all.

    Yes. I solved it without knowing the keyword for the first and last images in the top row. Once I knew the answer those clues fit right in. But I doubt I could have figured out the keywords directly from the images.

    I don't know if I am allowed to give hints but here's one in a spoiler. Peek at your own discretion.

    India is celebrating a major milestone in it's history. But it is also a milestone for another not so happy historical event that occurred simultaneously. The answer is about that unhappy event.
