I woke up this morning wondering what kind of accumulation that we got last night and to my surprise there was none. It was about 20 here today and still had the fireplace going. Ran the oven cleaning cycle and had to then open the window.

It didn't snow at all today.... but when we ventured out today, we were truly amazed ...... it was unbelievable. The roads were quite slippery..... but will appreciate the way they have cleared all the Freeways and major roads.... Good job Guys !

Hi there fellow snowed in friends!

We ventured out with the car for the first time today, just less than a mile to the grocer. Even in that short distance, we saw two cars slide off the road. It's still not very clear on the roads here for us. Dh's work was cancelled too.

Kamla, That $75 to have your path cleared was well spent! Dh was still out there shoveling today.

Gowri, the mere mentioning of pakora has made my mouth water!!

Ds1 is sledding down our steep driveway and Dh is acting crazy down the hill with his snowboard. I think I'll take the indoor route and just start another fire and make a fresh pot of chai. This snow can be dreadful and dangerous, but I still love it! (at least until I have to go back out there with a shovel:))

Sleepy, truly, the 75 was well spent indeed!

Tina, how come you had no snow? Funny! I heard that the Brunswick are of NJ too did not have much snow fall. But I am not complaining, though we go the highest amount of snow, the roads are quite clear and we got to do some shopping too. I was running out of milk, bread and such stuff and was panicking if the roads will be clear or not. I agree with Vaidehi, they did a good job here.

Hey, send those pakoras and hot bakes this way please!:)
    I can make the chai!!!!

    L, Kamla

I just hire the drive to be plowed and then I have to do some finishing work. He was charging something like $18 a time last year and he just comes and does it and sends the bill. I have some firewood on the back patio which I hope to use up before it gets really bad and so I will just forget the back door entirely so I don't have to shovel the back patio. After that I use firewood that is stored in the cellar. I guess we just were above that weather pattern but its been so cold...was below zero the other night.
