Your example using the word embezzle is an excellent one. It stresses the fact that the land was entrusted to the farmers by the government and they illegally appropriated the land for themselves. It is this misuse of authority to usurp something that one is expected to protect or care for that makes embezzlement different from theft. Here is another example, It is common for Indian politicians to embezzle government resources for their personal use.

Geevee, Thanks for the appreciation. Why don’t you share your sentence using the words you learn here.. When everyone who visits the thread shares their own sentence, we would have lots of examples to learn from. It would even be an opportunity to find out if we have understood the word and made the correct usage. Thankyou Gauri for sharing your sentence with us. I hope more will do the same. Zingy, feel free to post your sentence using words suggested by others too. We can all learn from each other. Here’s my sentence: My husband knows most of the roads in Abu Dhabi like the back of his hand. Since we went with him, we reached the new place swimmingly.
Word: Intermittent Meaning: 1. Stopping and starting at intervals. "intermittent rain showers" 2. Alternately containing and empty of water: an intermittent lake. Usage: Since the lodge we stayed in was close to the railway station, we could hear the hooting of trains intermittently.
Here's my word for the day! Meticulous: taking or showing extreme care about minute details, being precise. There is another word within the description of the meaning. Minute: Extremely small in size or detail.
Dear ladies, Please remember to share your sentence using the last posted word, every time you visit this thread It will help you as well as every other person following the thread.. New word posts are welcome as soon as you finish sharing your sentence that uses the previously defined word. Please excuse me for being meticulous about thread rules, but I was hoping that even a minute effort from each visitor in sharing her usage of the already-defined word could help everybody understand the word better. It would help us understand if our usage was correct. This would also motivate others to share new posts. I wish that my fellow ILites would just share their usage of the last defined word swimmingly without me having to remind them intermittently.
