Leander Paes won his sixth Mixed Doubles crown, by winning the Wimbledon title, parterning with Zimbabwe's Cara Black. The pair defeated, Wesley Moodie of South Africa and Lisa Raymond of USA 6-4, 7-6 yesterday. They were seeded second in the tournament. Its Paes' 23rd Grand Slam finals. He has already won 6 men's doubles title. With this win, he has moved one head of Mahesh Bhupathi, who has won 11 Grand Slam titles -4 doubles and 7 mixed doubles.
Thats great news. I caught only parts of the game yesterday. Question - Has Peas won in singles? ever?
Thats really a good news to hear.....Congrats Leander and his pair. Gayathri, Leander have once won bronze in 1996 Olympics. Other than that i guess he is more into mixed doubles or with doubles only... Anyways a Good news after Saina's hat-rick
No Gayathri..he hasn't won a Slam in singles. He is a doubles specialist. I guess he has won only one ATP singles title (I may have to recheck)..that was way back in late 1990s.
Laddubala, Yeah you are right about that olympic medal. And he has won in Asian games too na. Its great to see him going on like this..at the age of 37
