Dear Nitya... Please go to a good pet shop they have veg varieties of chew bones also... some are made of raw hide which takes Harley 2-3 days to finish and the others are made of peanuts etc.. check them out... also give her carrot / beetroot / celery stick to chew on... Harley loves to bite on Plastic stools also... but that can also cut their gums... so be careful... Hope you are giving her calcium/ protein/ vitamin supplements also. get her dentastix they are good for the gums and prevent plaque. K
Hi Kelly, we have started to hive her supplements and what ever is boiled we give her.her favourite is poiled potatoes.it is rich in proteins. As sullpliments we give her Top Cal [ oral calcium phosphotous - liquid feed suplliment/ & Verol - Amino acids and multivitamin syrup. We have started on Classic - veg food [similar to Pedigree [ and she likes it if buttermilk/curd is added. Anything associated with milk/milkproducts - she is allergic and gets loose motion.we realised this when we gave a cheese biscuits and Parle- milk biscuits. now we are trying her to give little sambar[diluted ] so that she gets enough cereals.
Dear Nitya... If our little one is in a "chewy" mood then cooked food will not give her satisfaction... why don't you get her some chewy toy or give her a sock to chew on... They are just like babies only stronger so you need to give them something that satisfies their urge of chewing... About the diet... Harley also has a more or less veg diet... we boil rice/ dals (moong, masur, tur) soya chunks, carrot/ beans/ potatoes and any other veg (no garlic or onion) in the house with a spoon of ragi in the cooker and add milk / curd with it and give him. In the afternoons sometimes we add a boiled egg or boiled chicken and in the nights i add a cupfull of dog food. Mornings he has milk / 4 chappattis & banana. he also has fruits later on. we give him dog biscuits... its better than giving marie or glucose. hope this will help K
