    Hello,
I recently watched this movie and I quite didn't understand the title 'WOmen's journey' - how it is matching with the story.
The hero-in tries to become a 'son' of the family , goes out to Bombay to earn money, falls into bad people prey and she becomes 'ESCORT' (this is what she calls herself). All of a sudden she is changed into high society girl, later she meets hero... he falls in love with her... but she avoids him... and later she agrees to marry him .
Over all it is such a waste to watch this movie.
Few years back, if a prostitute is getting married in this society used to be a revolution.
And off course, these kind of movies used to get National award and I used to watch those movies on sunday afternoon @ Doordarshan channel.

    Hey

I completely agree with you, i sw the movie and it is soo disgusting, i mean the whole message of the movie is sooo wrong... i mean when the girl was training her to be all seductive and stuff why cudnt she train her to speak english and be smart enuf to get a job... she herself pushed her into the mess and in the end the funniest part was when rani tells abhishek that she is an Escort... Abhishek says coolly ohhh i respect you even more. HELLOOOOO, :-o I mean nobody can be soo cool abt it... i felt like tearing my hair...

it was sheer waste of time and money... cant expect rani to do such crappy films...

    Hi punita,
Even i was totally disappointed with the movie when i watched it in theater.it was too sad in the beginning,it was not making any sense later.rani's performance is wasted.

I had just loved director's previous movie ''parinita'',so was expecting a lot from this movie.

Yes, this movie was very disappointing. :-( We booked tickets for the first weekend without even reading the reviews as it was from the director of Parineeta. It was just ordinary and I don't know why they have to show women resorting to such options - as if they can't do anything else! The one scene that I though was powerful was when Rani refuses money from the boss and tells him no amount would compensate for him cheating her. It would have been nice if they showed that she improves her skills and gets a job and supports her family. In these days, this story seems so out of place. As a reviewer put it - 'Laaga chunari se bhaag'.

    hai friends,
i agree to disagree with you all, this is a story of a family that has been pushed to dirt because of the greed. The pressure from all sides has bent their will to stand up in society, blundered by men who think that woman are not supposed to oppose and having daughters is also a crime, as they can never stand up to it, their father's opinion here. Did you notice before rani could take the step she rings up home telling her mother of the consequence but her mother was insistent that money is the need and she should somehow send it, what could she do.

Learning english overnight is not a joke, and to behave educated is another joke, sometime in life woman do take such step to save the family.

Being taken for a ride is all over the world, you allow them to then it's your choice, yes, we all go through so many negative things in life, that we always expect a movie to be a booster of mind and not place reality. who wants reality at a cost, as we pay through our nose to go to the theater. the positive side here is for abhishek to accept her for what she is, this is a complete heroine oriented film so abhishek did not have much to do.

If such a situation given, not all are going to fall back on it, but the quick money needed for the situation calls for something quick, men are ready to pay her to enjoy her rather than give her a job, thats reality, now to dream he could had given an uneducated girl a job and running through so many hurdles to achieve, would be so unrealistic that the younger sister would not had finished her studies neither the house redeemed.

The luck here is they did come out of the crisis instead of going to the red light area in mumbai and getting lost for good, she made her own standard helped by a friend, now this is her luck, meeting the right crowd and making something of the situation given to you, is something that has been shown here, it is a trend given, nowadays men are not so strict about virginity they are seeking for good souls who would understand them and make a good partner, now if she is available in the given situation of rani, what can be done, at least one's choice is met..

we had a family of 13 opposite to my place and to feed with a tea distribution was no ordinary feat, they were anglo indians, and they ordered a lot of bread and one beef stew or curry to go and all would eat half a loaf of bread each, now how long can the children survive like this, i remember two of the eldest sisters took up being call girls and survived the situation and tried educating the younger lot to an extent and so many abortions that by the time they got married which they did, they could not conceive and have babies of their own, now this is reality, so a story when given is based on some reality somewhere, and to come out of it, instead of getting lost for ever is any day better, to day all are settled in Australia each a butcher shop, singing group and so on.. regards sunkan
