    When I first heard this song sung so soulfully by my most favorite singer, the honorable MSSubbalakshmi, I was moved beyond any words can explain. Everytime I hear this song, my eyes never fail to swell up with tears.

    Thanks for posting Rajaji's soul-stirring song. Kamla, same here, everytime I hear, tears never fail to swell up my eyes. My grandmom would make us sing this every evening during our summer holidays after her evening prayers.

    when i got this forward the first thing that came to mind was u, i have read somewhere about ur interest in carnatic music, so thought this is a must post here, and nice to know vidya sings vow, someday may be u create small video for all of us to enjoy here in indus, there is no bad or good singer there are only soulful ones and all are that....regards sunkan

    This is my all-time favorite too. I hardly listen to any carnatic songs, because of my limited knowledge (they say kelvi nyaanam in Tamil) in music. But this one can be felt and enjoyed by any soul on earth I guess.

    My knowledge of Carnatic music is very very limited. But this is one song that I love to hear time and time again.

    Anyone who has a working knowledge of Tamil can understand the meaning of this song, thanks to the simple yet meaningfully rich words.
