KRISHNA O KRISHNA Two were friendly with Krishna. Arjuna was the son of Vasudeva's sister Kunti. The other was Uddhava, the son of Vasudeva's brother Devapakara. Bhagavad Gita was preached by Srikrishna to Arjuna on the battlefield. The Utdhava Gita was preached to Utdhava before he went to Vaikundam after his incarnation. Uddhavar, Yudhishthira and Govarthanagiri are the three who received the title of Haridasa in Bhagavata. After the Kamsa Vatam, Krishna sent Uttava to preach to the Vrindavan gopis. Pramara Gita (Beetle Anthem) is the song to which Radha and others who listened to Uddavar's teachings took their devotion to heart. As the incarnation was about to end, Krishna asked Uddhav to hear what he wanted. He never heard anything who doesn't want to listen anymore. Yet hesitate, Krishna, will you solve my long-standing doubt? said. Uddhav asked Krishna to encourage him. Kanna, the world praises you as Loka Raksaka, Paranthamman. But you made Kuselan, who studied with you, suffer poverty for a long time. After leaving the Gopikas, you sang the Gopika hymn and made them dance. You made the Pandavas, who had taken refuge in You, lose everything to Sakuni in gambling and wandered into exile and ignorance. You saved Draupadi only in the end by putting him in the role of Mana. If you had thought, couldn't you have prevented all this from happening and given them peace? Krishna patiently said: Dear friend, what you have said is true. But you speak like this because you do not know the reason behind every event. Kuselan and I went to the forest to collect Samiths. Then Guru Bathini sent us both to give four handfuls of her to Kuselan. As we withered in the cold in the good rain, Kuselan took my share of both of them. His act worked to make him languish in poverty until he gave me the same two handfuls. They boasted that I am the slave of every one of the Gopis and I am enamored with them. To get rid of that thought, I disappeared for a while and made them suffer. Even though I knew that gambling was wrong, I waited at the entrance of the hall and couldn't go in because the Pandavas told me not to come and sit there thinking that if I knew I would stop them. When Duryodhana said that Sakuni will dance for me, one can only guess what would have happened if Dharmaputra had said that Krishna would dance for me. I was saved only when Draupadi, who at first believed that he could save his honor, finally realized that he could do nothing and called me. It was only because of my side that the Pandavas were able to win the war even through Vanavasam and Agnatha Vasam. I never forsake those who surrender to Me. Life is based on one's actions. I don't run it. There is no interference with it. I am only a witness watching everything happening from the inside. If anyone realizes that I am watching, they will want to do anything and sin with me. When they make a mistake thinking that they are acting without my knowledge, they should take responsibility for it. If not, they will not realize it, and will repeat the mistake. Just as he spoke to Arjuna in the Gita, Krishna also conveyed the philosophy of self to Uddha through the Utdavagita. Enlightened, Uddhava went to Patrikacharam and attained penance. It is believed that Utdhava was the one who incarnated in Bandaripuram as the shrine of Lord Krishna when Bhakti Yoga disappeared and people were suffering without a guru who could properly teach it.
