hi Raksha, I speak konkani i am from Goa though not that fluently i was born & raised in mumbai dad & mum from goa.Dad always used to speak to me in english & when i did get married it was to an Angloindian when i go for holidays it takes me sometime to start speaking in konkani & everyone makes fun of me. hi, shilpa shenoy here. am konkani too. Amma is from kessargadde later settled in Mumbai. Aanu is from Moodbidri. Hubby dear is from kodial. Our visits were during school holidays, once to mumbai and once to south canara...now a days (years) hardly go there...sometime, rarely, for some munji or valdik... i stay near bannerghata road, near the new DLF home town, work in Valtech, near Jayadeva Hospital...... If any one wants to join a konkani group there is a nice one going one going on in yahoo groups called Konkani_Buddies by Sangeetha shenoy ..i dont think mentioning url is allowed in messages.
Nice to see you all konkani speak ladies. My mother tongue is konkani. I speak kannada, tulu, hindi and english. But I can confidently speak only in konkani. I was born in mangalore, grew up here, studied here, married a guy from Udupi, and now live in Mangalore city.
