My husband always complains of heatiness in his body ...coz he spots white boils on his face, his shoulders and the other symptom is dark urine....According to him this is because of eating chapathi, masala food, or green moong dosas or due to regular sex :bonk (He's a south indian so may be the food doesnt suit him)

Now due to this heatiness, he gets flu and fever with body aches once every 3 - 4 months....for that he takes paracetamol rather than going to a doctor.:rant

I am not convinced that flu can be caused by over heat in our body. How do I determine if the flu is due to over heat????

Today he asked me to make pepper rasam....and I think that pepper also causes heatiness...what shud i do in this situation.

he doesnt prefer to go to doc immediately..he waits for a week and then decides to go. MEN ARE SO STUBBORN.

I just want to help him in the right way rather than increasing the flu....coz he needs to go to office also regularly.

    Please guide me.

flu may be due to various conditions like lack of immunity power, impure water, lack of sleep (sleep helps to recycle body cells which gives good immunity power to fight against diseases), germs etc.

but if he is feeling too much heat in the body then you have to deal with ways to solve the problem.

he is south indian then it is not possible for him to eat chapathi daily. so please make some rice for him for lunch. curd/buttermilk rice is one of the best ways to treat heat of body. rice is also cool by itself. or after lunch he can take 1 glass buttermilk.
if you make any masala item then please make onion+curd pachadi/raita. i.e. mix sliced onions and thick curd, add very little salt. this raita will give cooling effect after eating masala items. you can make daily and give it.

pepper is not too much heat. it is more cool than red chilly powder. it helps to fight against diseases and removes germs. here in tamil nadu it is a habit to take pepper rasam (milagu rasam) or any other kashaayam in case of sickness. since it is good for health. thats why he is asking. you can make and give to him. just dont add too much pepper. add in required amount that is enough.

for preventing flu you can try the following
    1. give only boiled water to avoid any kind of infection
    2. keep house mosquito/pest free
    3. good sleep/rest will solve most of the problem ( 8 to 10 hours depending on his sleep requirement)
    4. take cooked garlic pods atleast 2 to 3 a day. it increases immunity power and avoids diseases.
    5. vegetables, sprouts, fruits and nuts should be taken everyday/regularly. they help to fight against diseases.

this should help i think. you can try and see. and wait for more replies.

Well drinking a Pinch of Asafoetida in warm water helps also try to use in your cooking as well. It helped my husband & this was suggested by my sis-in-law who's a Doc (Specialist)

    Try it

I got into a round of internal heat several years back after a pancha karma when I was in India. After I came back to USA I thought it would eventually stop but if anyhting it got worse. Then I started thinking maybe I picked up something in India (had Ganga water that trip...swimming for several days) so the internist here did tests and all were normal. I asked him what do I do for internal heat? He said I have no idea what internal heat is so I suggest you go to an eastern practitioner. I went over to my acupuncturist and she had it out in one visit. Since you are in Singapore, I suggest your husband goes to an acupuncturist. Quick and easy.

Where are you living? If its Singapore, then I don't know. I would ask a lot of Chinese neighbors and see who is the most recommended. My acupuncturist is in Oneonta NY

    HI Soumya,

My husband has a similar problem due to irregular travel routine and food. He always complains of a severe body ache or heat and most of the days ends up having heat boils below his neck, feet and back... but of late we have started to take in a lot of salads and loads of cucumber. He likes to have buttermilk as well so that helps in cooling the system internally and for external factors i use castor oil. try using it on the belly button, under the feet and on eyelids and that has a grt effect.
Applying henna on the scalp once a month or even twice a month has benefited both of us..

so try using this technique and there is always a Doctor who can advice u if there is something else is the problem.

    Anyways take care,

    Lotsa love

    Sowmya
