Kites in Indonesia

Kite flying is one of major pastimes among Indonesian people. Kite making is done with a lot of interest.

Kite festivals are held every now and then. Kites are really large in size.

Kite making and kite flying is traditional. It is said that Balinese used to resolve disputes by conducting a kite flying contest and the winner succeeds int the argument.

Kites have selected colours and logos and are blessed by elders before the kite flying ceremony.

I have taken a few photos while travelling so the pictures may not be that clear. still ..thought of sharing becos i havent seen such cloth kites in India.

Later shall post good photos from the net.

Kites rise highest against the wind - not with it.
