Recently , I had called the kitchen chimney cleaning man to clean our chimney and the mesh.

Just 15 minutes before his arrival he had asked me to keep boiling water in a bucket ready. As soon as he came he plugged the kitchen sink let out with a piece of cloth he has brought and blocked the water from going. Next he poured half bucket water in the sink and kept the chimney meshes and put Industrial chemical soda and let it remain for 40 minutes . In the mean time he removed the motor from the hub and cleaned it .
Later he removed and brushed the meshes , I just could not believe my eyes. They were looking brand new.
We can also try with soda may be quite frequently.

Re: Tips For Pickles & Jams:

    Hi sonu!!
I've read so many kitchen tips given by you, thanx a lot for it.I have a query & I think you will answer it very ably.I wanted to dry up amla (indian gooseberry) to make powder.I grated it and dried it in the sun but it did not dry completely instead gave a very bad odour so all my efforts went were wasted. Do tell me how to go about it as I want to store the powder for year round use.
    Thanking in advance.
