Hi all, I would like to start a thread for Kerala Thiruvathirakali or Kaikottikali Songs - Lyrics. I am posting two of the Thiruvathirakali songs from Malayalam movies. Anyone who know any other Kaikottikali Songs, please share it here. :exactly:
The following Kaikottikali song is from the Malayalam Movie : Aaraam Thamburan starring Mohanlal and Manju Warrier. Hi Manju That was a very cool one. Iam really glad to hear from some of the real traditional malayalees. I have heard one of these Thiruvathirakali Songs from my grandmother and even tried to match steps with her few years back. I am born and bred in Mumbai but a thorough Keralite from heart. Your songs have brought back the nostalgic memories of celebrating Thirvathira in Kerala, with Chama Kanji in cocunut milk, Puzhukku and the usage of Plavila Kumbil instead of a spoon. If I could get my hands on any of the traditional songs, I would be happy to share with you. Bye and Regards Preiya Menon :cool2:
Hi Preiya, Thank you for ur response. I posted this one about one month back and when there were no responses, I thought no one is interested. Since I know Thiruvathira and used to participate in the State level School Youth Festivals in Kerala, I am very much interested in this dance form. I have some more songs, which I don't fully remember the lyrics, as it has been more than 10 years now after I left my school. But when I hear these songs, it brings back the nostalgic memories of my school days and all the enjoyment we had during these festivals.
Hi Manju:hiya ITs a very long time since we interacted. "WISH U A VERY HAPPY THIRUVONAM" regards Preiya Menon:coffee
