Re: Recipe for Kerala Ada Pradhaman Can we add readymade coconut milk, as I do not have so much time to spend in the kitchen.
Re: Recipe for Kerala Ada Pradhaman Yes. You can add ready made coconut milk. Initially add half of milk. Boil some time. Then add the other half. But with original coconut milk, it will be very tasty!!!!!!!!!!!!...So try to spend more time in kitchen for this particular dish…………. Regards Asha
Re: Recipe for Kerala Ada Pradhaman Vidya, please try this on weekend and share the result with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traditional kerala iyer recipes Dear Friends, Some iyers of tamil Nadu migrated to Kerala about 300-400 years back and settled there. In their new home they learned the vegetarian recipes of Kerala and adopted them as their own. They modified the Tamil nadu recipes by including coconut and modified the kerala recipes by substituting green/red chillies instead of pepper. I propose to post some of the traditional recipes which I have collected.I am starting with Arachu Kalakki. This name means "That which is ground and mixed":- Arachu Kalakki I 1/2litre sour butter milk Salt For Masala ½ coconut 4-5 green chillies 1 small ball of cleaned tamarind For seasoning 1 tsp mustard 2 tsp oil 1 red chilly 1.Grind this coconut and green chillies and tamarind. 2.Mix this in buttermilk. 3.Season with mustard and red chilly 4.Add salt as per taste. Note .Arachu kalakki is not boiled. Arachu Kalakki II 1/2litre sour butter milk Salt For Masala Either 5-6 Kannimangas preserved in salt or Nellikkai preserved in salt or 50 gm of raw elephant foot yam(Chenai) and one ball of tamarind ½ coconut 4-5 green chillies For seasoning 1 tsp mustard 2 tsp oil 1 red chilly 1.Cut and wash kanni mangai or nellikkai or cut Yam 2.Grind this along with coconut and green chillies(add small ball of tamarind in case of Yam) 3.Mix this in buttermilk. 4.Season with mustard and red chilly. Note: 1. Taste and if necessary add salt. 2.Arachu kalakki is not boiled. Ramachander
