Kashmiri work ...... My son's favourite cartoon towel turned into a show piece........

 

Hello Uma,
Kashmiri work is the simple filling with chain stitch But the thing is it had to be put as the design does. For example, if you want fill a circle, then you should start with the edges of the circle and fill it in circular till the entire area gets covered.
The one which is shown here is made out of an old towel. I worked out the chain stitch on the cartoon as per the colors that was there. Then cut the cartoon part and stitched in on a satin cloth. Finally got it framed. Felt very happy looking at it hanged in our hall.
