Exclusive Exhibition showcasing Kashmiri outfits including Saris, Salwar Suits, Shawls, Stoles, Jackets, and Pashminas! Kasbahh Creations endeavour to help the impoverished women of various parts of India. We help these women get employment through which they get an income that could be used to provide education to their children, food, medicine, and other daily needs to the family. Moreover, a part of income generated from the exhibitions is used for their development. Our current endeavour is to help women from Kashmir. Violence and displacement have practically been institutionalized over the past 30 years of conflict here, contributing to a sad preponderance of women and children living in extremely bad conditions. Most women here know the craft of embroidery. Kashmiri Embroidery, locally known as Kashida has surely been inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of Kashmir. The significance of this craft is that it is created using one or two embroidery stitch styles. Wool, cotton, crepes, and georgettes are mostly used as a base cloth. Many a times these pieces of art take months to be completed. We are trying to do our bit to help these women improve their lives and the lives of their families by promoting their beautiful craft. You can help too! Purchase one of these beautiful pieces of craft and do your bit of helping the underprivileged. Date: 13 February 2010 Time: 10:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
