My dear Kalpana ! You have struck the right chord for Karthikai deepam ! Thankyou very much for the F B. I am sure there are many more knowledgeable ladies in our site, so please do not think I am the best. I write here, whereas they are like kudathilirukkum kuthuvilakku ! Love & regards, Chithra.
Pancha deepam oil Mrs.C, I came across the term Pancha Deepam OIl. Can u please elaborate on this? If already explained anywhere else, please direct me to the right place. Thank You.
Hello Radha V! Pancha deepam oil is a mixture of gingelly oil, coconut oil, castor oil, ghee & iluppennai. Now this concept is becoming popular & sealed bottles of the same are available for lighting the lamp. To mainly gingelly oil, you can add one drop of others for shastram & make your own mixture. This is one's preference. Love, Chithra.
ThanX a lot chitra for your precious contribution.... please can you share the pooja's done on the day of deepam... Take Care & keep Smiling brindhU
Dear Brindha, Thankyou for the nice words. It is not customary to do any puja for Karthikai, as far as i know. Please chant Deepa shlokam(sanskrit) Deepa shlokam(tamil) And do naivedyam. Love, Chithra.
