karnataka recepie-bittergourd menaskai

    Friends, generaly we donot give that importance to the bittergourd bec.of its bitterness,see youcan make a very tasty curry from it,menaskai.
    Ingredients-2to three small bitter gourds,2to 3 green chillis
    a lemonsize tamarind,jaggery,red chillis,sesame seeds little grated cocanut.
    method-first finely chop the bittergourd and greenchillis,add 2 tsp salt mix this nicely and keep this for sometime. squeeze this nicely. this is to remove the bitterness tosome extent,Now cook this with little water,addsalt, tamarind paste, gaggery,to this add ground masala,ie dry roasted sesame seeds roasted red chillis with very little oil and1 cup grated cocanut, this masala should not be water so add very little water, after adding masala to the cooked vegetable allow it to boil for sometime.finaly give seasoning of mustard seeds, red chilli,oiland curry leaves,.Idont know whether somebody has already given this recepie or no//anyway happy cooking.
