A nice write up, as usual.
On Kanu day, after keetrafying manjal, we lay out a banana leaf or manjal leaf in the open and serve a feast for the crows and other birds. After circling the leaf with water ( symbolically giving over the food to the birds) we say a small prayer in tamil which has now been shortened to:
Kakkai pidi vacchen ; Kanu pidi vachhen
Kooda piranthavar ellarum enrum nalamaga irukkanum.

Please, can you tell me the full/correct form of this prayer ? Of course, whatever the form, its only the sentiment that counts, still i'd like to know the correct verse.

Ingu naangal miga nandraga pongal thirunaalai kondadinom. Indha iniya pongal thirunaalil thangalin vazhtthum, aasirvaadhamum vendugiren. Mikka nandri.
