Friends, I have attached a picture of kalamakari patches which Ihave bought in the exihibition in the monthof Feb.at Jayanagar Blore,,Ihave paid rs,550 for 20 smallpatches and 2 big ones, now Ican show only smallpatches ,the bigger ones are attaced to the saree,Idonot know how long it will take to embroider the saree, if we are proffessonals we can finish fast, but to the homemaker whatever time is available we have to utilise.
    cheers

    hello Sharadau
I would like to know how you plan to do patch work on the saree with these 'patches'? do you painstakingly cut each swan and do applique work on the saree? I didnt know we get patches like these in the market. Saw some kalamkari printed sarees only.

    Hi Sharada,

Incidentally yesterday I had been to Pothys here and saw some Kalamkari patches that they had. I did not like the designs though, most of them were only floral and not very clear. There are two options they have - for sari and for dresses. If for dresses, its a pack of 20 patches small in size and the cost is 115Rs. If for sari, the pack has 20 patches small and 2 big and I guess the price is 500 + (do not remember the exact cost). But not more than 550. In all the cases the patches are pre cut and not available as sheet that you have displayed.

This is for the information of Chennai Ilites who are interested in buying these patches.

Thank you very much for the clarification Sharada.
Does anyone know about the availability of such pre-cut patches in Hyderabad?
