    Anyone here write a journal?

    Give me some inspiration.
    - Why write a journal?
    - What do you write? Happenings? Thoughts? What else?
    - How Often?
    - When do you write?
    - What tool you use?
    - Meant to be private or can be seen by spouse/kids?
    - How long have you been doing it?
    - Anything else about it?

    Yes @Jey
    I maintain a journal.
Originally it was all about time management - whatever I posted in my thread.
It used be just meal planning, and chores planning, to manage my life productively.

Last year i read about bullet journaling, and began adding other stuff.
This journal has anything and everything.

It is my food diary, weight log.
I draw kolams, jot down impressive quotes, when something captures my mind.
It is a diary of happennings, thoughts etc.
It is a calendar of birthdays and festivals.

This book is my world. No one is allowed there, atleast now:)

It is not organized yet, just random. Hopefully a pattern will emerge soon.

I write whenever I feel like it, but usually before bedtime.

When I go back and read, some entries make me smile, some make me cringe, some make me guilty (exercise goals), some motivate me.
    My own time capsule.

I have a journal, on a website called Penzu. It's a way to jot down my thoughts and emotions daily before I start work.

I would write goals and stories, but currently it holds the troublesome aspects of my life and my mood/perspective. I've used it to focus myself and since it's in type form, I can add additions/inserts as necessary.

I used to keep a journal book, with sketches and career goal diagrams and project plans. It's hard to be regular that way, when I can type faster and while pretending to work.

Thanks @kkrish @BhumiBabe First time hearing about BulletJournal and Penzu. Couldn't understand much of BulletJournal, but looks like it has a loyal following. Penzu seems straight forward. I use Day One. I am not very regular, but do it now and then.

Writing has been a good way to clarify my own thoughts on a particular situation. I also note down some simple memories that will just vanish if I didn't note them somewhere.

    Thank you @Jey
I liked bullet journal because we could write anything and everything in there.
Yes, it is a bit too much work, having index and all, which could be discouraging. But I think because the contents vary page to page, the indexing is needed.

I will check out Penzu and Day one. If these are easier I will use one of them. Anything that makes life easier, I adopt. :)

Very true. For me usually thoughts that go round and round in my head create a quagmire. When I put them in writing and look with my eyes things get clear. Maybe the straight line sentences give more clarity. It's like unwinding a knotted ball and stretching them in a clean straight line.

    Hi @Jey
I checked Day one and Penzu.
Unfortunately Day One is only for iOS sytem. I have Android.
You are right, Penzu does appear simple and easy and it is available for my system too.

Thank you for starting this thread and now I get to see another way to journal.:beer-toast1:
    Thanks @BhumiBabe ; you've got Penzu another follower.

Another thought today. It seems like if I don't find the time to journal few weeks in a row, it's a concrete indication that I am doing too much and I need to slow down.

I like this. A good way to measure ourselves.
    Thanks for the tip.
