November 2008 - I and my husband alongwith three other families (my husband's colleagues) planned a trip to Bidar to visit the unique temple of Narasimha Swamy - the Water Cave Temple - known as Jharani Narasimha Swamy Temple. One fine day we four families started in the early hours from Hyderabad in our four wheelers to Bidar. The ride was a joyous one and we families enjoyed the ride. We reached the temple at around 10 in the morning. The temple is located in a picturesque valley which is full of vegetation. From the main entrance we had to go nearly 60 steps down to get into Lord Vinayaka's shrine. The most exciting part of the trip started here. This Water Cave Temple enshrines Lord Narasimha on the wall at the end of the cave. There is a natural spring in the cave and we had to wade through water for nearly 30 minutes inside the cave with neck deep water and various turns in the cave ( I think seven turns) to reach the Moola-Viraat. It was really a thrilling experience and it was very adventerous and exciting to wade through the water upto shoulder deep with bats hanging on the roof top of the cave. We offered our prayers and performed Kshirabhishekam to the Lord and again the same route, we had to wade through the water. After coming out of the cave we had to go behind trees to change our dresses as we were totally drenched. As usual, a cup of hot chai, small shopping and then we proceeded to the famous Gurudwara @ Bidar. We had our lunch and then we drove back to Hyderabad. It was really a memorable experience which all of us enjoyed,
