Jewellery Making : Basic Materials Used

Can anyone suggest what are the basic materilas required to make a jewellery set?

Basic need for making jewellery:

1.Gear wire(Jewellery making wire)
2.Gear lock and samosa lock.
3.Kundan stones(15 to 20 it depends on your choice and select the colour which you like.Because lot of colours available in the market)
4.Loreals
5.Chakri.
6.Golden beads
7.Golden ring(used to bind loreals)
8.Necklace rope.
9.ear ring hook.(if you are interested in making ear ring check the thread posted by poornima Ear ring making instructions)

Cutter ( to cut the wire),plyer ( to handle golden rings)these all are available in craft stores.I think you are in chennai.

In Chennai mylapore-Wahab store(opp to Mylapore station)
Velachery-Raja fancy (behind dhandeswaram stop)
Parrys-lot of stores are there
T.Nagar- Raja and Pandian thread store

Thats all i know abt the stores.

I too take classes for jewellery.Raja fancy store is behind dhandeeswaram stop.Do you hear abt Dhandeeswaram stop?

 

iam staying in madipakkam.. but velachery is nearby only..

 

No probs Aparna If you find time in weekend go there and buy things.Madipakkam is very nearer to Velachery.Go to Vijaya nagar bus stop in velachery from there Dhandeeswarm is the 10 minutes walkable distance(next to vijayanagar stop is the Dhandeeswaram).All buses go to saidapet,guindy passes through the dhandeeswaram(I think so).So go and get a things from there.Otherwise Visit T.nagar shops ,When you go for purchase.

You can get all those materials from Uppukanaru street , bigbazaar street . If u take a walk in that road you will find a number of such shops .
( ie after chennaisilks if you walk a few minutes the first cut which will take you to uppukanaru street )

whcih No. Needle should be used for beading very minute beads

Hi friends,
I have bought very small beads in different colours thinking that I would make harams for my personal use. But to my bad luck :-( the beads are getting stucked at needle eye they are not going down the needle eye, I tried many needles. even purchased the assorted needle set but no luck. I am totally lost now Drowning

Can any one suggest me whcih number needle should be used for such small beads? Thanks in advance.
