The painting"Last Supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci is world famous. The painter was searching for a suitable model for Jesus for two years. At last he met one Pietro Bandinelli in a church. The boy looked very calm ,handsome radiating the same brilliance as would be expected of Jesus. Da vinci paid the person and he was much satisfied with the outcome of the painting. Still the painting was incomplete. All disciples have been brought out in the painting, except Judas. He was searching for a person whose face will be rude, ruff and stiff
to reveal the true character of Judas.

After about 5 years he met a beggar in the streets of Rome. The form, appearance & rudeness exactly resembled Judas. The famous painter hired him and completed the famous"Last Supper" with the beggar as a model for Judas. When the work was complete the painter asked the name and other personal details of the model.

The beggar revealed that he was the same'Pietro bandinelli"who posed as a model for Jesus 5 years back.Da vinci was greatly puzzled. Where did all the calmness, composure and brilliance vanish?

He didn't raise any query but thought to himself.
"In each man there is 'Jesus' and there is 'Judas' too.It is upto the individual to elevate himself as Jesus or degrade himself into Judas notwithstanding the favourable or unfavourable situations prevailing."
    What a great thought !
This incident has been quoted as 'fake' in 'snopes. Com.'

Even if it is not a real incident, it brings to surface many important truths in life.Topsy turvy changes are possible and a reality also.

No human being is totally perfect or imperfect. There are two faces to each person and each activity, just like two sides of the same coin.

Rights and duties are closely related and cannot be separated from one another. Both go side by side. These are the two sides of the same coin. If the state gives the right to life to a citizen, it also imposes an obligation on him to not to expose his life to dangers, as well as to respect the life of others.

Rights can be enjoyed only in the world of duties. For every right there is corresponding duty. When the people fail to discharge their duties properly, the rights all become meaningless.

On many occasions we think that people who achieve success are brimming with confidence.
Not at all. There is a fear of failure. The fear of succeeding plays a major role than actual failing.

Success is inseparable from responsibility. Many want success but not the responsibility.Society does not allow anyone rest on earlier laurels.People are waiting to point out and analyse any embarassing incident that the victorious gentleman has faced

To be successful is much more daunting to our inner sense of safety and status quo as we do have to change.

President Nelson Mandela, of South Africa once said "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. "

I believe that good and evil stand on their own, and in any given period a community may have an abundance of one and scarcity of another.

If we were to eliminate everything that was "evil" from the world, people would then begin to discriminate between things that were "really" good, and things that were "not so" good. And... those things that weren't really all that good, but definitely not evil before, would become the new evil.

We have to have both, if we want to be able to distinguish between them. Otherwise, if there is only one, there would be no concept of the other. Good would be meaningless if everything was "good". If everything was "good"... then everything would just be ordinary things and not exceptionally good.

It is often said that there is only goodness in nature. There is nothing called 'bad or evil.Only absence of goodness makes a thing bad.good.

Nobody is perfect, and nobody deserves to be perfect. Nobody has it easy, everyone has issues. You never know what people are going through. So pause before you start judging, mocking or criticizing others. Everybody is fighting their own unique war.
It is very often the experience that marriage is the union of two imperfect persons trying to make life perfect.
'perfection is not a reality' as per science.Once further improvements are made the earlier invention which was considered perfect becomes imperfect.
If 'perfection is not a reality at all,the maxim"practice makes perfect' also becomes meaningless.can we abandon practice or efforts?Never.

Perfection is never constant. It is evolving. It is alternating as environments change.

"The day I became enlightened " simply means the day I realized that there is
nothing to achieve and there is nowhere to go and there is nothing to be done,We are already divine and we are already perfect-as we are.No improvement is needed.God never creates anybody imperfect.Even if you come across an imperfect man,his imperfection isperfect.

Now the fake incident quoted in pra 1 becomes more significant.

Jayamam, your snippet is just perfect. I think the concept of Judas and Jesus is our reaction to the events. A Jesus sees an unfortunate event as a blessing to understand and rectify our own mistakes and sees hope and encouragement. While the Judas may see the same unfortunate event as a bad luck and leads to self destruction, depression and in the worst case hurtful behavior to others. Taking blessings of God and taking dedicating everything to God leads us to the Jesus reaction.

    Dear Akanksha,
You are right.Jesus and Judas are two sides of the same coin.only perception differs. It may not be worthwhile to go on aiming at perfection and the efforts may result in depression too.A balance is what is required.
Thank you for the first instantaneous response.

Frankly I would be really terrified to meet the "perfect" person. It would be like coming across a monster. We are all defined by our flaws, Perfection is the goal towards which we may be moving but never reach because the goalposts keep shifting. The society we live is imperfect and in such society perfection is a chimera.

    Dear balajee,
I agree with you totally. You are perfectly correct. The meaning of'perfection' is nowhere stated and it is getting redefined every second.

    Dear Smt. Jayasala:

Perfection exists only in pure Universal Consciousness and nowhere else. The moment separation takes place from the Universal Consciousness, every life moves between Rajasic, Tamosic and Satwic gunas. The free will that is granted is used by the living beings to drift away from the Universal Consciousness.

I was reading a book called, "Nano Technology of mind over the matter" written by Rev. Berg. He talked in this book about the old Testament and Kabbalah's belief system. When the Universal Consciousness decided to separate itself from one to many, the separation didn't happen because every part of the whole continue to be divine. Therefore, he created a vessel that would receive the divine grace called Tamosic. Still a part of the divine spark in the separated element was reluctant to receive without giving anything. Therefore he created another guna called Rajasic.

Therefore, every being has Divine Satwic Guna, receive grace that is Tamosic and receive grace to give which is called Rajasic. The beauty of this creation is the Macrocosm has now become the collective Gunas of all the Microcosm. Creator remain independent and free from this bonding. However, he has created unlimited urge for every creation to seek to become Universal Consciousness. If not in this life, it would be in the next or the next or the next. Every life, we will work towards perfecting it and when we become perfect eventually and there is no possibility of any change, we merge with the Universal Consciousness.

In fact, these three Gunas are in every cell in the form of Proton (giver), Neutron (receiver to give) and Electron (receiver). The function of all three are essential for the survival of life. However, every cell has intelligence and it is possible for city of cells to change their perception, according to Bruce Lipton as written in his book, "Biology of Belief". That is why they are able to coexist peacefully helping each other inside the body. Conceptually, when the species figure out the coexistence of all lives peacefully and harmoniously, the conscious level will substantially improve towards perfection.

    Dear Viswa,
A beautiful response referring 'nanotechnology of mind over the matter. The cell intelligence which is widely talked of these days has been in spiritual texts under some other heading.Inspite of all the theoretical explanations merging with Universal consciousness, ( Atma saakshatkaram) is of very rare occurrence and beyond the understanding of human beings of normal intelligence.Better let us lead a normal life of one's own might, minding our own duty with full honesty ,without being a nuisance to others.Whether we become aware of'Jesus' in us or not, let us nor trigger the'Judas' in us.

    Jayasala Mam,

Your post is like the Bible for positivism and rational thinking. What you have said here is so true...I believe too much of anything is not good in life, both tangible and intangible. Balance in our lives, actions, thoughts and deeds is what we need. If everything goes well and incidents turn out to be in our favor, then value is lost, for me then it holds no meaning. Everyday we must adapt and be the best we can suiting ourselves to the situation and circumstance.

    Dear Scorpio,
You have caught the essence of my snippet.Unless there is a thing called 'evil',the 'goodness' has no value at all. That is why the nature's process is like wheel turning from prosperity to adversity, from anxiety to peace etc etc. Thanks for your wonderful response.
