I read most of Fleming's books. I cannot help but wonder that Bond character is portrayed differently in movies. In books, the original copies, Bond is depicted like a hero but not as a super hero. In movies, Bond is shown like ...like a super man.

Ah! but in the older Bond movies, I think Bond is portrayed as a very much normal man with an intelligence of a hero (because you will see that Bond at a lot of times does get beaten and captured by men who have no weapons other than their 2 hands!)

But the latest movies do portray something more, may be with times people do need a super-hero than just a hero (really with all the other movie competitions they they have to go through!:drowning)

Gayatri, do you remember the famous Vodka martini, shaken not stirred?

    Oh how I love it!

Yep. And always loved it better the way Brosnan said that!!:biggrin2:
But you know, somewhere I came to read that James Bond knows nothing of Vodka Martinis because they taste/served better stirred than shaken! Ha, but how cares when its James Bond who says that!:crazy

Ya Gayatri, as long as its Bond who is saying it, no one really cares if its shaken or stirred.

Apparently Ian Flemming has led a life, larger than life; which ultimately cost his his life. And by far he was closest to what Bond is like in his books.

BTW, I agree, vodka martinis taste better when stirred :thumbsup.

Kalmat, that's a good idea; including this in the reading on the month. My first choice would be From Russia with Love. What about everyone elses?
