Mauna-giyaras is observed on November or December. It is a day of complete silence. Fasting is observed. Meditation is directed towards the five holy beings, teacher, religious leader, siddha and arhat. This day is regarded as the birth anniversary of many of the tirthankaras.

Have you heard about Mauna-giyaras before? Can you share something more about it?

Navapad Oli is a serious Jain layman fast. It is observed twice a year, once in March-April and once in September-October. During this nine-day period of semi-fasting, the Jains take only one meal a day. That meal comprises of very plain food.

Can anyone share more about Navapad Oli?
