Re: Does doing IUI continuously, show better results?

    Thanks Roopa and pmahensa,

Ya, I will discuss with my doctor, but just wanted to know as I will be meeting her after 4 / 5 days. So, thought will ask you about your experiences.

Reg my medical background, our problem is unexplained infertility. TTC for about 2 years. Am 25 and hubby is 31.

Roopa, all the best for your test. Do update the result.

    Bye,
    Swati

    Re: IUI ladies suggestions please....

Baseline scan means scan done on day 3 once you get your periods after injections cycle ( ie it has not worked). At times, all follicles might not ovulate some stay and form cysts.

R u still having the pain ?? From what I know cysts will be absorbed by body naturally after 2-3 months...

    Question about fertility treatments

    Ladies

I have been seeing a gynac for the last one year for my fertility issues.
We have taken all the tests and found that I was normal but my husband has low sperm motility. I have had 2 unsuccessful IUIs.
My doctor is now advicing me to see a reproductive Endocrinologist.
are they different from the regular gynacs? if yes how?
and how different is the treatment?
    Thanks!

    Vidya

    Re: Question about fertility treatments

Walk, no run to the reproductive encronologist ... this is a doc who specializes just in helping people with fertility issues and nothing else. they have had more specilized training than a regular gynac in this field.

did you get your iui's done by your regular gynac? that could be the reason it did not work out. reproductive enros have their own highly specialized labs where they employ the most advanced methods of sperm washing which is the key to a successful iui. regular gynac may or may not have the same facilities.

i consulted a fertility specialist clinic since I had pcos, and my husband had low sperm count, motility and morphology. we succeeded in our first iui and have a lovely 8.5 month old now :)

    good luck and best wishes

    Pooja

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
I am searching for the reproductive encronologist that my insurance covers. but they are at least 20 miles from our place.
but let me do some more searching and try to fix up an appt at the earliest.

and yes . my IUIs were done by a regular gynac. the first time she mentioned that the semen specimen was not good. But the second time she said the sample was very good..and we were bery hopeful...

Congrats on your new born and thanks for your wishes...

Re: How do I know Ovulation during IUI process?

you will ovulate 24-48 hours after the ovidrel injection. so if you use the ovulation tracker after the insemination, it will not be positive. the ovulation tracker turns postive about a day before you ovulate but since your ovulation is being induced by ovidrel, there is no real need to use the ovulation tracker.

depending on your case, you can go for upto 6 iui's before proceeding to ivf.
