Hi ladies, I'm new to this site. I'm getting my 2nd IUI next week and really need some advice.I will appreciate your success stories. Thanks!!
Hi everyone, We have been ttc for 2 years and nothing so far. Started seeing Re and in coital test they found hostile cervical mucous. Don't know??? how I was pregnant once before without even trying resulted in MC.On 09/14, had my first IUI that failed .I was on clomoid 50mg(5-9), hcg trigger- 48 hrs. I had just one follicle of 24mm, my DH count was okay.I wonder, why my RE didn't increase my clomoid dose? She said I'm responding very well . Now, I'm getting my 2nd one done.Hopefully this will be the lucky charm. I have my U/S on 08/11 and possibly very next day I'll have my IUI. I'm thinking of doing back 2 back this time. I know there are not many things you can do to increase your chances but I still want to give my best shot this time. I have few questions for my wonderful ladies here- 1. What diet is helpful? 2. Activities during and after IUI? 3. How to avoid stress? 4. Baby Asprin helps or hurts? 5. Back to back IUI, is it helpful? 6. How can I make Cervical Mucous better. I will really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!!
Hi Destiny, I got my iui done last year and I now have a 11 month old boy. I did my first one in jan'10 which failed. In feb I did not have any good follicles. In march my gynac put me on 150mg clomid and hcg trigger. There was one follicle. Then I took ovidrel. I concieved in this cycle. It took 2 attempts of iui. Regarding your questions: 1. What diet is helpful? I did not do any diet at all. I was down with flu during my iui 2. Activities during and after IUI? As I was unwell, I took bed rest for 2-3 days 3. How to avoid stress? I stopped caring about getting pregnant, I didnt have any hopes that cycle 4. Baby Asprin helps or hurts? never had one 5. Back to back IUI, is it helpful? I did iui 2 consecutive days. doc said one was enough but i insisted on 2 6. How can I make Cervical Mucous better? no idea about that. I think when the time is right it just happens Dont worry and wish you luck with your iui

HI Destiny, Welcome to Indus Ladies & to this forum. You can find our forum guidelines here.. First all the best to your IUI! Hope all will go well! Diet: Eat protein rich food. Ensure you include all vegetables & consume some fruits as well! Activities: You can continue to do your regular activities.... Don't do heavy exercises. Moderate exercise & walking is good as they would avoid any possible stress developing in you! If interested, do some time pass job, take up hobbies, try to be positive & happy during your 2WW! Back to back IUIs will help to some extend. You can try it. You can even have IC in the next days of IUI! Eat healthy & stay healthy! Take care! Baby dust to you.
One additional tip for your question "How can I make Cervical Mucous better." I take Cough syrup the day before IUI and the morning, after reading from one of the fertility forums. The syrup supposed to thin the mucus so that sperms can travel smoothly. Especially when having clomid its good to have cough syrup, as clomid dries the mucus. ilt
I did 1 IUI cycle with 2 IUI's back to back and luckliy got pregnant. These are the tips provided to me by a friend who is a naturopath. These are to be followed after your IUI. 1. Minimize physical activity e.g. housework, walking etc for 2-3 days after ovulation/IUI. This is to conserve your body's energy so that it can concentrate on conception. 2. No exercise except light walking for at least 1 week after ovulation/IUI. 3. Eat lots of protein rich foods. In moderation, eat eggs, Soya and chicken products, you can drink milk and whey protein products and eat lots of nuts and seeds such as sunflower, walnuts, almonds etc. Aim for at least 75 gms of protein a day. Your body needs the protein to help the egg fertilization process and help the egg implant properly into the uterus. 4. Keep a positive frame of mind and pray to god to help you at this time. 5. Do breathing exercises or light yoga and imagine the egg being fertilized and implanting properly in your uterus and having a healthy and safe pregnancy. 6. Drink lots of water, at least 8-10 glasses a day, preferably at room temperature. 7. After ovulation/IUI, keep your stomach covered and protected from wind for at least a week. Your womb needs to stay warm to aid conception. 8. Start taking a pre-natal and a DHEA supplement. The DHEA is especially important for vegetarians as it contains Omega 3 fatty acids that aid greatly in conception and maintaining a healthy pregnancy. Additionally, studies have shown that babies whose mothers took DHEA during their pregnancy score higher on IQ tests as kids that those whose mothers did not take the supplement. DHEA is naturally found in fish such as salmon as well
