Israel is not winning the war in Gaza. There are few reasons for this: 1. Hamas is using Guerilla war fare much like how Vietnam did to US during the Vietnam war. There are parallels drawn between the wars and it worked for Vietnam, is working for Hamas as well. 2. Hamas is regrouping with new soldiers. Israel's ethnic cleansing has led to lot of Palestinians who originally were not Hamas or fighting Israel to take up arms. So Israel destroys a region and moves forward and people affected by war, home less, no food, seeing their families, their children getting amputated, dead from the war are turning towards taking arms to fight Israel. This leaves two choices for Israel. 1. Kill all the people in Palestine including women and children. This does not rest of humanity and with internet and information getting out, Israel can't possibly do that. 2. Start a wider war with others as distraction. This will distract people's attention from the war in the small strip of Gaza and their attention will be that of war with Iran, Syria, Hezbollah. Israel is hence going down the path of starting the wider war by going on a killing spree by assassinating leaders from Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, provoking them to come to war. They can also drag US into this war easily, which is their plan. Israel from time to time have made these assassinations in Iran. Now they are doing more. Now, it has been the turn of Iran to retaliate ad Iran has been very measured in their response through the months because Iran does not want a war. So Israel is now saying that they are going to preemptively strike Iran because they think Iran might strike them in response to Israel's assassinations. If history is to be seen, this is not the first time Israel has done this. US has mobilized its soldiers for this war. History will not look at kindly to this blind support of US to isra l. How wide will war will go is anyone's guess. If history is an indication, Iran will do bare minimum to show as its response to Israeli attacks and hope America can talk Israel out of further escalations. Lets hope things end there.
