The little girl in the picture is Abigail Edan, who was 3 when taken captive. Abigail’s mother was killed in front of Abigail by Hamas militants. She ran to her father. He also was gunned down while using his body to shield Abigail from the attack. The girl then ran to her neighbors for help. The girl and neighbors (a mother, and kids aged 10, 8, 4) were all taken hostage. So: Hamas militants killed the little girl’s parents, and then took their neighbor lady and a total of 4 kids hostage). The girl’s older brothers 6 and 10, managed to hide inside a closet for 14 hrs and survived. Interesting trivia: She turned 4 while in captivity. Also, this little girl was not among the first group of hostages released
The mother above, and her twin daughters, were taken hostage along with many other family members. They had tried to hide in the safe room of their house in the Nir Oz kibbutz. Hamas militants set fire to the house, these little kids and their relatives were all captured as they tried to escape the flames. Let that sink in: the three year old kids taken captive while trying to escape flames that were set by someone to their house.
The kid winking in the picture was 12 when taken captive along with his brother. Their mother was on the phone with them when Hamas arrived, and heard her youngest son, that twelve year old, cry, "Don't take me, I'm too young!" The father of the two kids along with his partner was also taken captive.

Random thought: Hamas attacked innocent civilians on October 7, committed horrific atrocities on them such as raping and bludgeoning a person's body beyond the dead body's gender being detectable. If Hamas had not done those attacks, that precious seven year old would be alive today?
