Is the cost of Laproscopy covered in cashless med insurance

Hi,

I am 31 years and am suffering from PCOD. My doc has adviced me to undergo laproscopy (which is i guess most probably diagnostic). But the cost for it is quite high (40K). I wanted to know if any one of the Ladies here underwent Lap and got it covered under the cashless med insurance.

I have ICICI Lombard cashless insurance, but the company is not ready to give me the list of procedures that are covered under it.

Many thanks for your replies. I had consulted my doctor and she said that the laproscopy is primarily diagnostic, but will also be curative i.e if they find some adhesions in my fallopian tube, they will remove it and may be they may also do ovarian drilling or any other thing that can be treated at that time.

I have called the insurance agents, but they also are unsure if lap is covered or not. They are not ready to give me the list of diseases and procedures covered under their insurance.

Yes, Radha the cost is very high. I have to get it done in Rockand Hospital in Delhi (this is where my doc works). In Delhi most of the private hospitals have the cost of lap in this range only. i tried other hosps too, and I am apprehensive of Govt. hospitals. This is the reason why I am trying to get it covered under the insurance.

The lap is important bcoz the HCG showed beaded appearance of the fallopian tubes and the doc suspects that I mite have genital TB.

I have fingers crossed for this insurance thing to work out. If any of you also know of a good hospital/ fertility specialist in Delhi, pls let me know.

Meanwhile pls pray for me as I am dying for that bundle of joy.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried for insurance but it was denied on the grounds that the lap would be diagnostic (inspite of clarification given by my gynae that it may also be curative). So now, I am going to get the lap done in the same hosp where my gynae works (i.e rockland) and would submit the bills for reimbursement in the insurance (hoping they might reimburse if it is curative).

The date for lap is scheduled on tuesday, 27th april.

I have one question though. Tuesday would be my 14th day of cycle and I usually ovulate during 14th-15th day (i.e if and when i ovulate). So I was just curious if the lap is done on those days which are your ovulating days? And should I be ttc before lap and after lap (in case the O occurs on say 16th or 17th day)?

Please help if anyone has gone through this situation.
