Hello Friends, I live in San francisco, California. I was having tap water till ten weeks of my pregnancy. Is it safe?I am really worried.
I drink tap water all the time.. I am no where close to California.. Most often tap water is safe.. and then there are incidents like Flint, MI. But I don't mind drinking tap water. It does not bother me. I really wonder if filtering water removed lead... I have no idea. There are studies that have shown that bottled water is no better than tap water. You can try spring water if you are considering bottled water. Evian water is considered one of the best water. I never had it. But then I am not the kind that splurges on goods.. any ways, don't worry too much.. Good Luck with your pregnancy
The next time you go to doctor for your periodical check up ask the doctor the kind of water she would recommend. Most cities publish water analyses data on their websites. If you are curious as to what your water contains, you can check that out. 1. http://sfwater.org/index.aspx?page=634 2. Spring water is also sold in big healthfood stores in a fill-it-yourself station. Check them out. Have a safe trip on the family way.
If you are really concerned (for example about pipes in an old house and whatnot), you can have your water tested. The water authority will either do it, or they may recommend a company or you can research it and find one on your own. In general, tap water in the US is safe to drink, as long as you are far away from Flint, MI!
