Nigeria is known for its notorious deeds. Of course there are lots of expatriates living there inspite of all such problems. Robberies are very common there and also the local people are aggressive. One has to learn to be adaptive and also has to be very careful in that country. It is unsafe to venture out at nights. There is also terrible traffic congestion. If the opportunity is really good and your SIL's hubby does not mind taking a chance, he can go ahead. Once has a good circle of friends and he gets used to that life, then its fine
I am living in Nigeria for the last seven years. I agree with rkgurbani in everything. But there is no need to worry a lot. Once you will adapt everything will be fine. You will get friends of your community and u will soon be at ease with everything. Good luck
No......not at all..... African countries like Algeria, Nigeria are not safe. robbing is more there. don't carry valuable cellphones(costly) especially gold rings,chains etc. don't shop night times. don't roam outside singly. at least 5-6 members as a group can shop. i come to know situation through my husband colleague. working there is unavoided then don't go with family. not at all safe for ladies. children education also difficult.
