Just tell/remind him that you have a right to privacy and it should not be like living on a railway platform or an airport. This kinda nosy interest in the goings-on in the other people's lives is not healthy. The siblings doing this kinda "pack hunting" on the other members of the extended family is unbecoming.

Call that woman you spoke to who reported on it to a wide audience and tell her that she should have made a full disclosure that she is acting as a reporter to a wider audience. That's the decent thing to do.
