Iron rich foods.

    Hi ladies,

    Most of them have iron deficiency now.Suggest by way of natural foods to improve the iron content.:) Is that lion dates syrup good for this ? I am taking vitamin tablets.Share here the food items to improve the iron content.:thumbsup

    Dates , leafy veggies , & jaggery as far as i know.

    Hi,

    As I know these are rich in iron.

    Vegetables like broccoli, beetroot, mint, lettuce.

    Beans like black eye beans, soyabeans, green gram whole.

    Fruits like dried dates, raisins, water melon.

    Another thing dont go for Lion dates better is dried dates with seed as others will be more processed.

Refer the high iron food list given below.Spices: Turmeric (Haldi) Fruits: Dried dates, Watermelon, Raisins,almonds , walnuts, watermelon, papaya, pomegranate ...

    ALWAYS REMEMBER: IRON FROM RAW FOOD IS ABSORBED BETTER!!


    1. Almonds 15 pieces contains 1 mg of iron
    2. Cooked spinach 1/2 cup contains 1 mg of iron
    3. Cooked lentils 1/3 cup contains 1 mg of iron
    4. Dates 4 dates contains 1 mg of iron
    5. Brown Bread 2 slices contains 1 mg of iron
    6. Cooked green peas 1/2 cup contains 1 mg of iron
    7. Cooked Potato 1/2 potato contains 1 mg of iron
    8. Oat flakes 2 tablespoons contains 1 mg of iron
    9. Beans 1 cup contains 5 mg of iron
    10. Egg 1 contains 0.7 mg
    Above all taking chlorophyll is the best option.chlorophyll can help in cases of anemia and other blood deficiency conditions.


    1 table spoon of chlorophyll = 1 Kg of green Vegetables<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />



    Daily Intake of Iron - Recommended

    Children upto 6 months - 10 mg daily

    Children from ages 6 months to 4 years - 15 mg daily

    Females ages 11 to 50 - 18 mg

    Females over age 50 - 10 mg

    Pregnant women - 30 to 60 mg

    Males ages 10 to 18 - 18 mg

    Males over age 19 - 10 mg
