    Dear readers,

I'm Swiss and soon visiting India (mid January - end February) with my fiancé. For me it's the first time but have been interested in Indian culture for many years. We are in the middle of organising our trip and would appreciate it if you can give me some advice on those questions:

    • What are the most important does and don't?
    • What is recommended to visit, what should we skip?
    • What is the price for textiles, clothes, jewellery, cooking items and where can I buy good stuff?
    • What is to consider booking a hotel, consuming food, using public transportation?

Maybe there is sometime else you can tell me.

Thank you very much for your tips!

The list of places are innumerable to be honest. When I had been there, I visited Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Goa, West Bengal, Kerala and Andmans. :) It was quite a vacation.
One of the DOs is that dress as per the city. Some of the cities have very conservative people so it will be better if you make a note of it. God forbid, but just keep somebody close to you about your whereabouts so that in case you need some assistance, he / she can reach you. Take all safety measures. Have some personal safety apps installed in your device that can get you immediate help when you need it.
