Injustice to 'man'kind?

may be because, the wives are always introduced as "better halves". better halves are entitled to get only better treatments . i said it in a lighter sense.

your last sentence carries the explanation. though 50% of woman's paapam goes to man and women are on the safer side, a woman feels that let us do only "punya karyam" (like you sriniketan).

thats why women are bestowed with more punyams.

sriniketan maam,i've also heard about this rule...one of the small consolations we have in the midst of so many rules and restrictions laid down for women....

while we don't know(atleast, i don't !) on what basis this rule was laid down,i had an interesting thought...
i think the ancient laws would have thought that women,being naturally virtuous, did good deeds without being told,which led to their punyam.men,on the other hand,needed to be reminded to do good to others,so half their punya went to the women behind them, who motivated them to do it....
women,generally, did'nt do negative things on their own,but were coerced by men into doing it..so half their paapam goes to the men who forced them into it....
on the other hand, men dont follow our advice,and easily end up doing the wrong things,so we don't have to share their paapams...

this is just a funny thought that occured to me....men, dont be offended...!!(esp those of u on IL...we know u r not that sort...!!)
