    Hi Folks,

Recently I heard one of my neighbours complaining about the so called standard of education. Apparently some of the questions for a 3rd grade for the exam were on the lines of - what is the new name of some airlines, status of metro rail system in india, etc ?

Are we forcing too much on our kids in the name of competition, standard and hampering their normal growth and development or should all this be really thrust on our kids ? Imagine the amount of books they carrry and the weight of their bags as against the single slate and chalk of those old days !

The count of suicide cases of kids is also increasing every day as they are not able to tolerate this pressure at school and at home. Where is all this heading ?

Lets know how you feel on this : bonk

Education is best, no reforms needed
Education is worst, needs complete change
Education is good, certain weak/bad areas needs to be corrected.

    Hi Sumeru,

For me I would go with the option:
Education is good, certain weak/bad areas needs to be corrected.

Agreed it is a rat race and we have to make our kids to run if they have to succeed in this world. As with any system, there is always pros and cons, it is upto the individual to draw a line for pushing their kids.
