hi vidhehi, when we visit india everytime we take(doctor suggested) hepatitis A vaccine for my kids. everytime i take these items with us: tylenol, mortrin, cough syrup and bandaids. click on this link if you need more info on hepatitis A: Don't forget Hepatitis A shot - Living - The Olympian - Olympia, Washington happy journey.
Vaidehi, I usually just take tylenol and saline spray. A lot of times tylenol just didn't work for my DD, so we had to go for antibiotics or injection. No matter what medicine I carry we ended up buying from the local pharmacy only. Since your son is 5 already just take tylenol, vicks, saline spray, bandaid and some cotton balls for emergency needs. Buy rest of them from India based on needs. -Uma
Thanks pmahensa for the list, its very handy for an easy reference. Thanks again narra & uma, do we need to take any medicine or precaution so that he doesn't get stomach upset or viral fever. Also please tell me what all pre care you all take so that they don't get sick(apart from medication).
Vaidehi; As Advitha has suggested its always better to go local. I tell you from my exp. (of shuttling b/w hospitals inspite of having half a bag of anti-bio ). If you get time you can check this link Travel Medicine Shrewsbury|Passport Health-travel clinic|travel health|travel vaccines|international travel medical care|immunizations|country entry requirement|insurance|yellow fever|shingles|influenza|flu shot,. They will tell you the vaccines; if any to be taken. Also if you get time inform the ped. about the travel. They might also suggest something(in my case nothing). Safe travel and give boiled water. -Nitha
